Christian Pulisic has arrived in Japan for Chelsea's pre-season tour.
The USA international joined the Blues from Borussia Dortmund for £58m in the January transfer window, but was loaned back to the Bundesliga outfit for the remainder of the season.
He didn't meet up with his teammates for games in Ireland against Bohemians and St Patrick's last week due to being involved in Gold Cup action this summer.
Despite suffering heartbreak in defeat in the final against Mexico, Pulisic got Chelsea fans excited with some standout showings.
The forward made a big impression at the tournament and he was rewarded for his performances by picking up the Young Player of the 2019 Gold Cup award after scoring three and registering the same number of assists.
Now it's all about club matters for Pulisic and Frank Lampard revealed the youngster had his own travel arrangements to Japan.
"Christian joins us on Tuesday when we get there," the new Blues head coach said at the weekend. "He is flying in separately as he has had short break but fair play, he wanted to get there quickly which I appreciate.
"It is how I would have been [coming back from holiday early]. It is a huge move for him to a big club and he is a top young player who will only go one way.
"It was important we start the season as well as we can. I know we have injuries but we will need him. I have not met him, I have spoken to him, but it is a good impression."
