Nigerians seem to be disappointed on behalf of a Nigerian Air Force officer who returned €37,000 found at the Hajj Camp Market in Kano.
Bashir Umar had found the parcel of money on Tuesday during a routine patrol with some of his colleagues and decided to return the money to the owner, identified as Alhaji Ahmad, after calling a phone number he found on the parcel.
While the chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar hinted of an immediate plan to reward the airman, Nigerians are rather shocked that, in the current wave of poverty, someone would return such an amount.
Those who commented on social media have berated the young man for letting an opportunity to become rich pass him by.
